Wallace Robinson & Morgan Solicitors is inviting suitably qualified contractors to submit proposals for energy-efficiency improvements at our office building in Solihull.
Our accepted energy assessment identifies two possible measures for the middle and top floors:
- a high-efficiency air-conditioning/cooling system; and
- a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery (MVHR).
The main issue is summer overheating, particularly on the upper floors. The middle and top floors currently have no air conditioning, are heated by radiators in winter, have openable windows, and accommodate approximately 25 people. The top floor is directly below a flat roof.
Contractors are invited to review the building and available information, carry out a site visit where required, and submit a proposal covering:
- the solution they would recommend and why;
- whether cooling, MVHR or a combined solution would be most appropriate;
- likely equipment and installation requirements;
- expected energy efficiency;
- likely disruption and building works;
- indicative cost excluding VAT; and
- expected installation timescale.
